TV Programming in Real Time on Your Cell? At 2010 International CES, Cydle Unveils the i30 – First to Bring Mobile Digital TV to Smartphones
LAS VEGAS -- Just when you thought smartphones could do just about everything, Cydle today introduced the i30 ATSC Mobile TV handheld receiver – bringing mobile digital TV to smartphones for the first time – and proving that these remarkable handheld devices can do even more.
At 2010 International CES, Cydle (www.cydle.com), the emerging leader in car-based multimedia systems and one of South Korea’s hottest consumer electronics companies, unveiled its new flagship product:, a portable, pocket-size ATSC TV Receiver. The Cydle i30 delivers subscription-free, real-time programming in the palm of the consumer’s hand. The company is exhibiting in Booth Central 13041.
The Cydle i30 is compliant with ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) Mobile DTV, the technical standard that defines mobile digital TV (DTV) broadcasting. The standard enables local TV stations to broadcast to mobile devices on the frequency they already use. The Cydle i30 is designed for smartphones through the new ATSC Mobile DTV standard.
“If you use a smartphone and want to watch your favorite television shows in real-time, now you can,” said Woody Lee, U.S. director of sales, Cydle. “The Cydle i30 a real achievement, given how versatile smartphones already are. Whether looking at form factor or functionality, the i30 complements today’s devices extremely well.”
The Cydle i30 also includes a novel battery-sharing system, which ensures that the smartphone doesn’t run out of juice mid-call, mid-message or mid-program, by tapping the i30’s power source. And by connecting smartphones to the i30, both can be charged simultaneously through a USB cable connection or a wall charger. The Cydle i30’s built-in speaker provides crystal clear sound.
Also at CES this week, Cydle will formally unveil its M7 Mobile Internet Device and Cydle P29A Multimedia Player. Like the i30, both also offer subscription-free Mobile TV, and both integrate a host of other capabilities designed for travelers who want to take their sights and sounds with them.
Cydle’s line of wireless digital devices seamlessly integrate capabilities that combine navigation with entertainment – including GPS, Live HD Traffic updates, HD Radio reception, rich multimedia, Bluetooth, WiFi, black box, Mobile TV technology and more.
